Since ancient times the image of “mother” has occupied the central role in literature. Every society created its own hero attributing her unique features. Daniel Defoe, a representative of English realism, created an “indifferent mother”, French romantic Victor Hugo created an image of a sacrificial mother, and Nar Dos created Sarah and Shushan, who committed the worst of the sins – the infanticide.
