The paper is devoted to the study of linguistic and structural peculiarities of a diplomatic note. Three types of diplomatic note are discussed: a personal note, a verbal note and a circular note that are widely used in diplomatic relations between states. Diplomatic notes convey different content: statement of facts, fulfilment of obligations, expression of position, etc. From the linguostylistic point of view, diplomatic notes are characterised by formality and clarity, a special set of linguistic units, clichés and polite expressions.
