The paper presents the ideological and structural principles and features of the novel “Memories of My Melancholy Whores” written by Colombian writer, Nobel Prize winner in literature (1982), representative of Latin American magical realism, journalist, publisher and politician Gabriel García Márquez. The story was written on the basis of the novel “The House of Sleeping Beauties” by the Japanese writer and Nobel Prize winner Yasunari Kawabata.
