The purpose of the paper is to reveal modern novelist Khaled Hosseini’s main hero Amir in the novel “The Kite Runner”. Hosseini's delicate, ironic and sentimental novel helps to perceive the main hero Amir's inward emotions and guilt. The perceptions of sin, betrayal, love and the hero’s attitude toward his best friend Hassan help us to understand the novel and the Afghan author better.
