THE MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE JOURNALISTIC DISCOURSE

The subject matter of the present paper is the peculiarities of the journalistic discourse. To describe the journalistic discourse first of all means to define its efficiency in terms of effectiveness, optimality and its normative nature. The newspaper discourse can be characterized by summarizing the factual and invariable features typical of it.
The most significant characteristic of the newspaper discourse is the category of the information field, under which the information continuum is understood covering various spheres of facts and events of the real world.
