Fictional communication has recently become the focus of research methods in various disciplines (literature, linguistics, sociology, culture, etc.). The meaning of colours is especially important in this field of linguistic communication, as evidenced by the principles put forward in the works of a number of authors (Michel Pastoureau, Toni Bernhart, Elodie Ripoll, Pierre Monnier). This paper is an attempt to summarize the theoretical and practical concepts on the subject in question and, as a result of their analysis, to coordinate the objective-subjective factors of the presence of colours in the fictional discourse. Special attention is paid to linguistic, literary and psychological approaches.
