In the given paper an attempt is made to define the notion of business discourse, to reveal its linguistic and extralingusitic characteristics as well as to study its structure, aim, functions and types. Regarding business discourse as a twofold communicative interaction importance is given not only to the professional knowledge of communicators but to their speech formation and listening comprehension skills as well. The latter are the key factors of successful business discourse.
