The paper touches upon the organization of interactive lessons at the Department of Journalism of YSU. This kind of lessons are productive for studying professional material in the English language. At the Department of Journalism interactive lessons can be carried out by conducting interviews in English. During the interactive lessons, students expand their professional and general vocabulary, become more skillful at communicating and conducting interviews in English through personification of interviewers and interviewees from different spheres.
